Bob Herbert Calls Out Right Wing White Bigots: Gingrich, Buckley, Limbaugh, Reagan et al

Bob Herbert, columnist of the New York Times, puts the hammer to the right wing bigots who are spewing their race hatred at Supreme Court Nominee Sonia Sotomayor.

He notes among other foul acts of these Republican Kloset Klanners the campaign kickoff speech Ronald Reagan made in 1980, a speech on states rights, which is Republicode for white supremacy.

Reagan chose Philadelphia, Mississippi for that speech.

The place where Michael Schwerner, James Chaney, and Andrew Goodman were murdered by scum of the earth Klanners in June, 1964.

Ronald Reagan sent two clear signals that day. He told the bigots of the South and elsewhere that they had nothing to fear from the Republican Party and were welcome into its white tent. And he told the world that the Republican Party was the party that would keep the niggers in their place among the subhumans and keep the white man running Plantation America.

And today Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, and Tom Tancredo, among others, still push the racist legacy of Reagan, Lee Atwater, and William F. Buckley.

Buckley, following Brown vs. Board of Education,  declared “that whites had every right to discriminate against blacks because whites belonged to ‘the advanced race.’” That makes him an intellectual heavyweight among Conservatives and Republicans.

Do we really need the Republiklan Party?
