What the Right Really Believes…
May 29, 2012

What follows is the complete text of an email I received recently.

This really is priceless!!

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away"

THE FIRE CHIEF SAID..PRICELESS

The Fire Chief Said…

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.
Not fair to make judgment of this, until you see what the Fire Chief says!!!!

In South Los Angeles , a 4-plex home was destroyed by a fire.

A Mexican family of six, all welfare recipients and gang members,
Lived on the first floor, they died.

An Islamic group of seven welfare cheats,
All illegally in the country from Kenya , lived on the second floor,
And they, too, all perished in the fire.

6 LA, Hispanic, Gang Bangers, & ex-cons,
Lived on the 3rd floor and they, too, died.

A lone, white couple lived on the top floor.
The couple survived the fire.

Jesse Jackson, John Burris and Al Sharpton were furious!!
They flew into LA and met with the fire chief, on camera.
They loudly demanded to know,
Why the Blacks, Black Muslims and Hispanics,
All died in the fire and why only the White couple lived?

The Fire Chief said,
"They were at work"

This has just got to keep on circulating… it’s too good…

This is how the right wing thinks. This is Tea Party. This is Republican conservatism. This is the heart of the modern Republican party.

Nineteen people burned to death in a house fire. None of them were white. The white people survived because they were at work.

Nineteen people burned to death.

And that’s funny. Because they weren’t white. Because their lives were different. Because they were, what, morally defective?

But the white couple? Apparently very virtuous. They were at work, of some kind.

This is virulently racist stereotyping. It’s the sort of thing that serves to confirm the beliefs of the shallow ‘thinkers’ on the right.

It’s the sort of thing that leads to concentration camps and furnaces, all run by the ‘right people’, the good people, the moral people, the people who think it funny that nineteen people burned to death in a house fire.

And it is the sort of thing that appears to be very popular on the right. The party of Boehner. Of Palin. Of Kantor. Of the Koch brothers. Of Romney. Of Limbaugh and Hannity. Of fundogelicals. The party of morality and family values.

It is now an American value that people of color burn to death in house fires. That’s a family value today.

And it’s funny. Pricelessly funny.

Isn’t it?

America: Ship of Fools
March 6, 2012

In the Middle East the people of Syria are being slaughtered.  Thousands have been killed by the Syrian army.

In America we are debating the potty mouth words of a fat man calling a female law student a slut because she testified before Congress on health care and contraceptive drugs.

In Syria civilians are bombarded by tanks and artillery of the Syrian army under the control of a certifiable psychopath, al Assad.

In America candidates for the Presidency throw money and insults at each other as they try to prove to an ignorant, thoughtless, narcissistic mob of voters which of them is more Christian, which of them is more rigidly and mindlessly ideological.

In Syria soldiers are dragging old men into the street and shooting them in the head.

In America a President threatens yet another Middle Eastern country with destruction as he backs them into a corner, leaving them little option but to snarl and fight and do the thing he says they shouldn’t do, while the Israelis do their best to pervert the American government into doing their paranoid dirty work for them.

In Syria children’s throats are being slashed open by soldiers and the blood of children runs in the streets.

In America families lose their homes. Workers lose their jobs. Bobbling head media ‘personalities’ spew nonsense and call it ‘news’. Roads and bridges crumble. Schools cut education. And ugly men and women collect millions of dollars from amoral and immoral corporations as they spew hatred and bigotry and a vision of ignorance and greed over the broadcast frequencies owned by the people of the United States.

In Syria thousands flee for their lives from their murderous government, spilling over the borders into other countries, fleeing with nothing but the clothes on their back, running from armies of their fellow Syrians wielding artillery, tanks, automatic weapons, and knives dripping with the blood of children.

In America one political party seeks its sole goal of chasing that nigger from their White House and are willing to bring the government to its knees in order to accomplish that goal. And the other party tries hard not to make anyone upset at them, so they adopt the position of standing for nothing.

In Syria the blood of old men, women, and children flows freely in the dirt and gutters.

In America the politicians say they support the Syrian people. One might ask which Syrians the Americans support: the dead ones or the ones about to be slaughtered.

In Syria the government of a murderous tyrant murders its citizens at will, by the scores, by the thousands, freely, without reservation, without reason.

In  America the Attorney General of the United States and the President of the United States publicly seek to justify the murder of American citizens on  the order of the President, with no charges made, no judicial review, no recourse.

America, the enlightened democracy of the twenty-first century? Or a ship of babbling fools playing to an American mob of ideological and theocratic conformists raptly listening to ugly voices promoting hatred of American against American and American against all non-white , non-English speaking people in the world.

Choose.

Racial Division: Republicans In The South, Via England
January 19, 2012

There’s a good piece in The Guardian about racial prejudice being used by Republicans to foster racial division in South Carolina.

Naturally we have to read a well written and researched article like this in an English newspaper because the American press won’t touch it. Just like the fact that more whites get food stamps than blacks seems somehow never to get as much mention as Republican charges that blacks are sucking from the system the money and the jobs and whatever else white people might want.

Yay America! Rah rah rah! Keep it pure!

Ron Paul: Liar, Bigot, Ignorant, Ugly Little Man
January 17, 2012

Well that headline should boost my blog hits when all Ron Paul’s devoted, mindless fanatics check in.

I doubt that Paul has the proverbial snowball’s chance of getting the Republican nomination, much less actually winning the White House. But, given the quality of the American electorate, strange things could happen.

There is an article over at The New Republic which discusses his old newsletters and provides links to scanned copies of them. These are the newsletters that Paul now claims he didn’t read, and that somebody else wrote under his name. And yet, in the December 1996 issue of Survival Report, the article notes:

Paul, who has repeatedly claimed over the past month that he “didn’t read” his own newsletters, wrote, “I don’t agree with it 100% either, but I still grab it from the mailbox and read it, front to back, the minute I get it.”

So, Representative Paul, were you lying then or are you lying now?

The newsletters show Paul for the bigoted, ignorant, ugly little man that he is. He can claim he didn’t write any of it, but apparently he’s not willing to back up that claim or to disavow the contents of the newsletters. He allowed the material to go out under his name, which makes him responsible for it and he should be held accountable.

It’s unfortunate that his legions of dedicated collegiate followers apparently have gotten no education in critical thinking in those high-priced classes they take at those expensive colleges. They’re giving a college education a bad name by supporting Paul and engaging in aggressive apologetics for the tiny-brained man from Texas.

It’s a sign of the times we live in, and of the poor quality of American education, that a politician like Paul can promote his simple-minded policy prescriptions and have them taken seriously by so many people who are supposed to be intelligent. And even sadder that they are so eager to dismiss his hateful comments in his newsletters.

If the country is very lucky we won’t have to hear from or say much more about Ron Paul. But we should be kind and hope that he can find his way back to the Texas rock from under which he crawled.

Imus, Oh Imus!
April 7, 2007

I noticed in today’s MSNBC story on the Imus racial slur that they left out that producer Bernard McGurk, who shares Imus’ racist proclivity, called the women ‘jigaboos’. Maybe these two should just pull out their Klan costumes and wear them on air. They’ve certainly encouraged all the Kreepy Krawling Klanners out there, along with the Kloset Klanners.

And there’s this from the MSNBC promos: “He can be grouchy and mean. He says exactly what he feels and means what he says… no matter who he pisses off!” That’s from an April 2 promo. So, gee whiz, I guess he really meant it about those Rutgers women.

Imus should be fired. He hasn’t the grace or wit to step down voluntarily. If he were a lesser radio personality he’d be through. But money talks, and he makes money for the broadcast stations. So it must be okay to call people ‘nappy headed hos’ and ‘jigaboos’ if you’ve got enough star power and money. Of course, if he’s gone that far, he might as well reveal the depth of his mind and call some blacks ‘niggers’ on the air. Not that much difference, is there?

All his apologies can’t put the emperor’s clothes back on, can’t put the jigaboo back in the closet.
