Christian Bigot Is The New Governor Of Alabama

This story about Alabama Governor Robert Bentley pretty much speaks for itself, as well as for the principle of separation of church and state.

  1. Just what do you have against the inbred? Did you see his photo? His tiny chin SCREAMS, “my great-grandfather is also my father, and my mother is my sister-cousin.”

You and your high-falutin’ Massachusetts gene pool. *shakes fist*

  2. If a black man in a group of black people said that they were his brothers and sisters, would you be complaining about it?

    • Are you saying Daniel that his audience was all white? He said that at MLK celebration fer heavens sake!

In any case, what he said was that the non-Christians were NOT his brothers and sisters.

      Read it again.

    • He’s the governor of a state and announced that ‘unsaved’ people do not have his full attention or favor. And as the article pointed out, he came within a whisker of asking people, as governor, to convert. I doubt from here on that atheists, Jews, Hindus, unsaved Christians, what-have-you, will feel comfortable doing business with the state of Alabama.

And being black is not a choice, so your analogy doesn’t hold water.

      • The analogy was apples and oranges. This governor is a huge story.

  3. Shorter Governor Bentley: Following Dr. King’s message, I reach out to the lesser races. So long as they accept white Jesus.

    • But was he white? He could have been a little brown guy.

      • Not THAT Jesus – he means the blue eyed brunette Jesus – who was also quite tall.

          • Of course Jesus was white. How else could he be distinguished from the obviously Semitic people around him?

  4. He’s exercising his freedom of religion. You got a problem with that, move to another country. It’s guaranteed here.

    • Daniel, you apparently don’t understand what the words ‘right’ or ‘freedom’ mean.

    • Stating outright that only those citizens sharing one’s religion are worthy of consideration is not only anathema to democracy, but also implies an intention to disregard the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Would you consider it acceptable for a Muslim politician to state that those not sharing his absurd belief in a different set of preposterous desert gods are unworthy of consideration?

      • Show me the quote where he said that. You won’t find it. What you will find is this, “I want to tell you today that I promise you that I’m going to do everything I can for everybody in this state.”

He’s not discriminating. He’s stating where his family is.

You really have no idea what religious freedom is, do you. You go against what our constitution says when you cry separation of church and state. (Which is NOT in the constitution). From what I gather here, if it was up to you, everyone is office would practice forced atheism. Get out of my country, and go find your own place to tyrannize.

        • I understand why right wing loons are so angry at public schools. They were all obviously ill-served by those tasked with teaching them about the Constitution (see the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment), debate (Get out of my country…), and the English language (“everyone is office would practice …).

        • Well, the old “love it or leave it” ploy!

Having been to your blog, I realize that you are not capable of critical thought, of reasoned logic, or putting together any number of words that make any sort of real sense. Which I expect from a fundogelical.

Since I have no intention of leaving my country, especially of leaving it to the likes of you and the governor, I’ll take the easier route of banning you from my blog, because life is way too short to put up with your kind of nonsense.

    • Let me just add that since Daniel is not one of the elect, is not one of the saved, is not in the least Lionly, he doesn’t get to play in the Lion’s den. Were I feeling mean, I would say he’s inferior, but that’s really his game and I am not interested in playing with him. But he is boring and has nothing interesting to say.
