NASCAR aptness…

imageConsidering the amount of advertising plastered on the cars and on the drivers’ uniforms, this Globe photo strikes The Lion as particularly apropos.

Church 500 years behind the times, as usual…

image Five hundred years after the Catholic Church ordered Nicolaus Copernicus buried as a heretic in an unmarked grave, the Church finally dug him up and buried him properly.

His heresy? Doing science that suggested that the stupid, dirty old men running the Vatican weren’t the center of the universe after all.

‘Lost’ is finally lost after six years…

The Lion just doesn’t care.

  1. 1. I love the NASCAR shot. I wonder how many people besides you caught the irony?

    2. What was the point? Oh, I know! To ease their consciences and to, hopefully, salvage their image in the world. I’m pretty sure Copernicus doesn’t care what anyone does with his bones at this point, and I don’t know whether he has any descendants who care. But, the Church dudes can ease its conscience by feeling like they did the right thing in the end. Typical religious nuttery – it’s all about how the believer feels, not about any practical impact on the world.

    3. I never watched Lost. I guess it’s too late now. I hope I didn’t miss anything exciting or important.

    • I’m waiting for the outrage on NASCAR…

As for Copernicus, I suspect 95 percent of everybody is saying, “Who?”

Yeah, Lost was lost on me.
