Domestic Terrorists Murder Women’s Doctor

Here’s what Randall Terry, head of the domestic terrorism organization Operation Rescue, said about the murder of Dr. George Tiller by a member of Terry’s organization:

George Tiller was a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to properly prepare his soul to face God. I am more concerned that the Obama Administration will use Tiller’s killing to intimidate pro-lifers into surrendering our most effective rhetoric and actions. Abortion is still murder. And we still must call abortion by its proper name; murder. Those men and women who slaughter the unborn are murderers according to the Law of God. We must continue to expose them in our communities and peacefully protest them at their offices and homes, and yes, even their churches.

His statement is nothing less than a call for more violent action against people who have committed no crime. His intent is to intimidate and terrorize civilians.

Terry and his ilk should be brought to justice under anti-terrorism laws.

  1. From BJ Keefe’s blog:

All told, according to statistics provided by the National Abortion Federation and not including this morning’s murder, since 1977, there have been seven murders, 17 attempted murders, 41 bombings, 175 arsons, 96 attempted bombings or arsons, 390 invasions, 1400 cases of vandalism, 1993 cases of trespassing, 100 butyric acid attacks, 659 anthrax threats, 179 cases of assault and battery, 406 death threats, four kidnappings, 151 burglaries, and 525 cases of stalking specifically directed at clinics, their workers, or their volunteers in the US and Canada. That’s over 6,100 cases of terrorist activity by the “pro-life” movement. And that’s just what was reported — the actual numbers are probably much higher.

  2. By the way, Terry knows exactly what he’s doing. He tosses in little phrases like “peaceful protest” here and there to protect his own ass. Meanwhile, he knows goddamned good and well that when you call abortion “murder” and describe certain doctors as being guilty of “genocide”, that there will always be a small but significant portion of followers who will take those words as a call to arms. He can sit back and let the wackos do his dirty work and then claim innocence.

  3. Maybe I have missed it and exception to my generalization, but: during the Clinton administration, there were multiple woundings and murders at women’s health clinics; none (that I have been able to find) during Bush II; and now it has started up again with a Democratic President. It seems that the eliminationist rhetoric really heats up when it is not a born again Republican in the White House. And when the rhetoric heats up, humans die.

  4. But they’re all good and righteous Christians, followers of Christ, believers in the golden rule… and seventy years ago they made the bestest ever concentration camp guards under Hitler.

  5. Wow, Evo, those statistics are staggering!

(((Billy))): interesting point about the relative quiet during the Republican presidencies. Maybe we should bring the War on Terror home – it looks like we need to fight them here instead of over there.

    • Omigod, irony!

  6. All these “right-to-life” assholes aren’t anywhere to be found when the unwanted child is actually born. That really gets me.

Speaking of unwanted children, and since today is June 3rd, this is my post for the day:

    Ode to Billy Joe

    • Their philosophy is “Love the fetus, hate the child, because screaming about the fetus gets us more attention.”
