Jerry Falwell: One down….

The only problem I have with that disgusting little man dying is that now we have to listen to all his sycophants boo-hoo about what a great man he was, yada yada yada. It’ll probably be as bad, if not worse, than all the crap that was put out about Ronnie Reagan after he kicked off.

Falwell was a foul, bigoted little creep who spewed hatred and intolerance under cover of his religion.

Some will say it’s not nice to speak ill of the dead. Nonsense! The poison he spread will continue. Dying doesn’t absolve him.

  1. You poor little man. You are so blinded by hatred that you can’t see the truth. Whats so bad about “love thy neighbor”?

  2. Spare me the pathetically arrogant ‘poor little man’ crap. As for the truth, your disgusting little Falwell didn’t preach love thy neighbor. He demeaned, denigrated, insulted, and otherwise put down people who didn’t agree with his prescriptions for how to live their lives, and he did all he could to get his sickening bigotry into political power. Unfortunately he succeeded and the country will pay for it for quite a while.

    From CNN, re: 9/11:
    ——–
On the broadcast of the Christian television program “The 700 Club,” Falwell made the following statement:

“I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say ‘you helped this happen.'”

Falwell, pastor of the 22,000-member Thomas Road Baptist Church, viewed the attacks as God’s judgment on America for “throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked.”

Then he went on to apologize, and to rationalize what he said. Good one, Jerry, spit in people’s faces and then say you’re sorry. Sorry doesn’t cut it, pal.

Yeah, dude, that’s real ‘love thy neighbor’ stuff, isn’t it? He and Robertson and their ilk and their followers are about as far from genuine Christians as imaginable. They’re haters. They’re bigots. They’re ignorant. They’re arrogant in their ignorance. And they seem quite happy to rake in as much money as they can from peddling their moral smut.
