Check out this post at Scholars and Rogues on how AT&T has chosen to thumb its nose at the United States Constitution, at the American citizenry, at law and fair play, and at anyone who uses its services.
Looks like a good time to let them know that if they don’t remove this truly offensive idea from their contracts and terms of service, you’ll stop buying their products and services. Here’s a web page for contacting them on the corporate level.
For what it’s worth this is what I said to them:
Your TOS for high speed internet is a violation of American ideals of free speech and fair play. Indeed, it can only be described as fascist zeal in its utter disregard of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. I am recommending a boycott of all products and services offered by AT&T until you remove this offending idea and language from all your contracts.
“AT&T may immediately terminate or suspend all or a portion of your Service, any Member ID, electronic mail address, IP address, Universal Resource Locator or domain name used by you, without notice, for conduct that AT&T believes (a) violates the Acceptable Use Policy; (b) constitutes a violation of any law, regulation or tariff (including, without limitation, copyright and intellectual property laws) or a violation of these TOS, or any applicable policies or guidelines, or (c) tends to damage the name or reputation of AT&T, or its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries.”
Unless of course you’re a Republican who thinks what they’re proposing is a good idea.
