In the Globe today Steve Bailey writes about David Kirkpatrick, a movie producer and co-founder of something called Good News Holdings. GNH’s mission is “to produce ‘spiritainment’ that will ‘please God’”. Kirkpatrick is looking for land in Massachusetts to build a production studio for one hundred fifty million dollars.
Kirkpatrick said “Our focus is on values-based entertainment across all platforms.”
One of their first projects – Dudleytown, described as “a Christian teen horror film.”
That must be what GNH means when it says it aims at “satisfying its audience hunger for a higher vision.”
The final graph of the story reads:
Kirkpatrick downplays the religious nature of his company, saying “this is a hard-boiled business proposition.”
Guess so, dude, guess so.
